Jacqueline Holt will use her residency at PS² to continue an exploration of collaborative film making and creating moments of intimacy from everyday life. Over the course of the residency she will continue her development of a series of films that look at identity, unsaid histories and communication as translation. Jacqueline will bring together artists to take part in a workshop and improvised performance/ film which will then be screened on Thursday 1st February as part of Late Night Art.
About the artist
Jacqueline is part of the Freelands Artist Programme 2021 - 23. She was a recipient of a Jerwood Bursary 2020. Her recent exhibition 'This Moment of Being' at PS2 Belfast was the culmination of her ACES Award, supported by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and in partnership with LUX. Having originally worked at LUX, she moved to Belfast in 2010 to re-position herself and focus on her art practice. She graduated from the Belfast School of Art MFA in 2012. In 2015 she co-founded the organisation AMINI, which supports artists working in moving image through screenings and discussions. She has exhibited in Belfast, London, Nice and Dublin. Other projects include a commission for DORIS, a Soft Fiction publication on film and artists' moving image culture, and The Last Soirée of the Belgium Embassy Annex, N16, an exhibition curated by the artist Gerry Smith. Jacqueline has a studio at Flax in Belfast.
