Living just below the surface

Rachel Dickson

Ends 17 February 2007

My work is concerned with ideas of memory and circumstance; how we carry our experiences with us, wearing moments in time, stained by involvements, sewn into the fabric of our lives intimate garments, marked and stained, secrets, memories exposed patterns and construction becoming integral to the recollection garments too fragile to wear fragility, integrity exploited fabrics of the domestic instruments of beauty, violated patterns for life, instructions for living written down, so as not to forget.
This new body of work was created in and for the  PS2 space.
A workshop to reconstruct memory, drawings, sketches, enabling the remembering of patterns, moments, written down and made.
