Open school of arts&crafts and other things to make

This short project will show a selection of the drawings, watercolours, sketches, scribbles, masterpieces and throwaways from the outdoor workshops this summer. PS² asked artists Sharon Kelly and Cilla Wagner to run 4 free sessions at different outdoor locations for people of all ages and abilities with an interest in drawing and sketching.

Four Free Outdoor City Sketching Sessions with Cilla Wagner and Sharon Kelly.
This is the first of 3 programmes of the Open school of arts&crafts&other things to make. Within the main theme of community as artist this year, creative skills training and mutual learning are important elements in order to find ways of expression.
Each Open school of arts&crafts&other things to make consists of workshops and sessions and each of the three programmes is aimed for different age groups and uses different media and techniques.
2. Construction sites- 5 workshop days with Minecraft and Google sketch. Project with and for children aged 10-16.
(26 October - 01 November).
3. Four Saturday workshops for children aged 7-10 about ‘dress making as construction’. It will teach cutting, gluing, sewing, measuring, sketching skills. (18, 23, 30 January and 06 February 2016).

Four Free Outdoor City Sketching Sessions

These open and free classes will ‘teach’ drawing, sketching and journaling. The classes will introduce the skills and techniques for sketching, encouraging participants to develop their own visual journal for capturing personal observations and impressions of the world around them.

4. Sunday 30 August  3 – 5 pm  Titanic Quarter
   

Sessions will be facilitated by artists Sharon Kelly & Cilla Wagner. No experience necessary and the sessions are free. PS² will provide stools, clipboards and some basic sketching materials. An exhibition of sketches made during the sessions will be shown in PS² between 05 -10 October.
